Ser Arquitetos crafts Glass House in Ibiporã

Situated in Ibiporã, Paraná state, Brazil, within a recently established neighborhood, Casa de Vidro or Glass House by Ser Arquitetos occupies a 300 sqm plot, featuring a built area of 137 sqm. Adhering to a modest budget, the owner, skilled as a carpenter and locksmith, played a crucial role in executing various constructive elements, such as frames, metal structures, and the wooden ceiling. The house follows a functional and intuitively organized layout, consisting of three blocks that articulate to form an internal patio. The initial impression upon entering the plot is the living room, characterized by a high ceiling and glass closures that distinctly delineate vertical and horizontal planes. The metallic structure and wooden lining of the roof create a visual effect, seemingly making it float above the construction.

the design prioritizes permeability and views

Strategically utilizing natural resources, the bedrooms face the west side towards the internal patio, facilitating heat release and optimizing natural lighting and ventilation. A french window on the east side enhances the intimate areas with morning sunlight and crossed ventilation. This permeability ensures pleasant views of the external patio. In the rear block, the design accommodates the dining area, prioritizing permeability and views of the patio, alongside a toilet and bathroom in the suite with a zenith opening for natural lighting and ventilation. Ser Arquitetos positions support and service rooms in the southern area, separated from the main entrance and front setback by a defining laundry wall, complementing the facade’s volumetry and providing direct kitchen access.
