paper sheets overlap in geometric patterns to filter soft light through gilad hadar's lanterns

radiatorri emulates sunlight filtering through nature

Encapsulating the essence of simplicity, serenity, and symmetry, RADIATORRI is a collection of lamps crafted by laminating paper layers to create a dynamic interplay of light and shadow. Gilad Hadar’s multitonal deep light fixtures draw inspiration from the designer’s own childhood memories and his long-standing desire to create a calming, light-infused work environment to embody a harmonious blend of artistic expression and low-tech initiatives.

The delicate sheets are layered in various compositions of repetitive patterns to create the lamp series, with the intersections infusing dynamic depth and bringing the calming qualities of natural light indoors inside, emulating the effect of sunlight softly filtering through leaves and branches.

gilad hadar enhances well-being & productivity with lighting

Driven by a desire to create a more soothing office environment as well as optimizing sleep, Gilad Hadar sought to explore lighting solutions that can enhance human well-being and comfort. The final form of RADIATORRI arises from the designer’s exploration of various techniques and aesthetics to achieve the effects, unfolding as delicate lanterns that infuse spaces with a tranquil ambience inspired by the healing powers of nature.

Following an iterative process of discovering new tools and processes, the designer was able to refine his technique of shaping laminated paper to create an understated, low-tech form with a simultaneous emphasis on aesthetic creative expression. RADIATORRI’s distinct patterns are achieved by the paper sheets’ repetitive layering, forming simple geometric designs. Further, the method is an intuitive expression of Hadar’s own perspectives and emotions — ‘I find beauty in the flawless and endless repetition of geometric designs, adding depth and intrigue to each lamp I create,’ notes the designer.
